Listening to: New Years Day
I've been working on the script for my Audrey story today, the piece I did for my comic book course has really got me excited to start the whole thing! So I now pretty much have have the dialogue and directions for the first chapter, but it's a pretty long chapter so I might find that I'll break it up into smaller chapters when I do the art. The trouble with my story is it's pretty depressing at the beginning so I'm sat getting upset about all these nasty things that I'm having happen to Audrey... even though I'm the one writing the story... So yeah, even though I don't like the beginning I still want to take my time with it, I'm a little worried that I'll end up rushing through it so that I can get to the good stuff, so as long as I stick to my script then I should be fine ^.^''
I've added in some things too, like a scene where she meets her pet rat (still unnamed, Audrey reads a lot of adventure and fantasy novels so I thought maybe she might name him after a character in one of those books but I haven't chosen one yet..) which I think is pretty sweet (:
I think beginnings are tricky because there's so much you have to introduce! First the readers need to meet the main character, then they need to understand who she is, why she's the way she is and how other people interact with her... I'm so glad that I've made her clueless about the main part of the story because I have absolutely no idea how to add in explanations to things that the main character already knows. I thought about having a narrator, (which I plan to include in the prologue) I even know which character I would use for that but I haven't decided if the story would work with a narrator throughout the whole thing and not just the back story bits...
Anyway, I've rambled on long enough. It seems odd to make journal entries about a story that only I know much about, I bet this makes no sense to whoever is reading this!
...just as well nobody is reading this...
Bye for now!
